About Us

For over 30 years the Burnie Brae Centre has sought to build strong community connections by providing quality health, lifestyle and care services to their clients and members.

Burnie Brae Centre is a Not-for-Profit Incorporated Organisation that opened in Chermside in March, 1984. What started as a small membership-based social centre rapidly grew into the multifaceted centre standing today. Currently, Burnie Brae provides services to more than 9,000 individuals, with aged care services remaining at its core.

Burnie Brae’s range of services is divided into three main areas: member services, care services & allied health services.

Member Services

The centre provides a wide range of social, health and recreational activities and events to members through its weekly program. Additionally, the centre offers an on-site cafe, hair salon, travel agency, community garden and nursery.

Care Services

Care Services is an umbrella title for the wide range of community services offered by Burnie Brae for seniors. The services include home care packages, home maintenance, community transport, Day Respite, Project Pantry and the NDIS. Our government funded programs are managed by a team of dedicated professionals striving to provide the highest possible standard of service to clients and their families.

Allied Health Services

Burnie Brae provides a range of allied health services designed to encourage healthy ageing within the community. Healthy Connections is an onsite exercise clinic that provides high quality exercise services through innovative programs, best practice methodology and quality of care. Alongside Healthy Connections is Healthy Connections PLUS which offers two Reformer Pilates studios. Audiology, podiatry and remedial massage services are also available at the Burnie Brae Centre.
